Slinfold is a small pretty village. The centre of which has a host of period properties. Built to the east of the old Roman road ,Stane Street a Roman posting station existed at Alfoldean. The oldest house being a mile from the village dates from 1271 at least. In 1865 the Slinfold railway station was opened and closed in 1965. The route now forms part of the Downs Link. Slinfold has a village shop ,a primary school, a village hall, and a public house. The church was built in the late 13th century. The village has a cricket ground and pavilion with an excellent cricket team.
